Media notes
Falkland Islands Sedge (or Grass) Wren perching on rusting fencing wire. The Falkland Islands Sedge (or Grass) Wren (Cistothorus platensis falklandicus) is an isolated subspecies of the Sedge Wren that has 19 described subspecies, ranging from Mexico to southern Chile and Argentina. In the Falkland Islands Sedge Wrens persist even in highly degraded habitats with feral rats, house mice and cats. This Wren was perching on discarded fencing wire near a farm gate on Cape Bougainville in East Falkland in a howling wind with a vehicle engine running nearby – hence the poor sound quality. Elevation: 19 m. Date added to IBC: February 4, 2019.
