Media notes
A lost Crested Tern chick struggles uphill through Sea Spinach to its nest. When they become more active, Crested Tern (Thalasseus bergii )chicks often stray from the nest, placing themselves in danger from predators or from starvation if they are unable to return. This Crested Tern chick wandered from its nest and became stranded at the foot of the dune covered with a thick mat of Sea Spinach. One of its parents flew overhead, encouraging it to climb the steep slope back to its nest, which it finally did. Elevation: 11 m. Date added to IBC: November 20, 2018.
