Media notes
A Laughing Dove perching then vomiting. The Laughing Dove (Spilopelia senegalensis) is widespread throughout Africa, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. The species was introduced to Perth in 1889 and is now found from about Shark Bay in the north, east to Kalgoorlie and south to Esperance. Laughing Doves are sedentary, and are mostly associated with human habitation, and do not seem to invade native bushland. This adult bird was perching quietly near the edge of Herdsman Lake in Perth, when it vomited then flew away. I wonder what it had eaten?. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: November 20, 2018.
