Southern Red Bishop flock foraging in grassland. The Southern Red Bishop (Euplectes orix) is a spectacular finch that breeds and lives in wetlands and marshy grasslands. The polygynous male Southern Red Bishops have red and black body plumage with brown wing feathers and females are cryptically coloured and difficult to distinguish from similar species. Most of the birds in this flock were males, but one female made a brief appearance. Elevation: 1481 m. Date added to IBC: June 12, 2018.
