Kelp Gull preening, Ushuaia. Kelp Gulls are widespread throughout the Southern Hemisphere. They are commonly seen scavenging on rubbish tips, on shorelines and in the rookeries of breeding seabirds. This bird was on the Ushuaia waterfront, where there is plenty of food in the raw sewage discharged from the town into the Beagle Channel. Elevation: 4 m. Date added to IBC: January 11, 2018.
