Media notes

Displaying at a lek (2 of 2). Same individual as other video uploaded. This bird was part of a small lek of Mionectes striaticollis displaying at Yanayacu Biological Station in Ecuador, around 2,050 m elevation. In this video you can see the bird regurgitate a seed. The bird also appears to make use of its neck and chest feathers as part of the display, though it is less obvious in this clip. Sticky fruits (mistletoes?) appear to be stuck to the branch below the perch, and the forest floor was littered with red regurgitated fruits. Elevation: 2097 m. Date added to IBC: June 23, 2016.
