Observation details
Rare, particularly away from the the barrier beaches but recent weather conditions conducive to continuing trend of early-mid november appearance of Cave Swallows in NYS. Affording stunningly close views for almost the entire observation as they consistently gave close flybys, calling on several occasions. Initially just 2 seen but numbers grew as time went by, culminating in at least 7 seen together. Small Swallows with square tails, buff rump and pale buff throat and forehead patch. Dark blue upperparts with discreet white braces on the mantle. Life bird for PM and TS.
