Observation details
At least five different individuals (three males) found in a short stretch of the trail inside the tall second growth dominated by Cecropia and that runs parallel to the lower Caño La Rompida. Obtained recordings of the loudsong of three separate males (natural vocalizations). For the first and second male I also briefly played back their own (individual) songs to elicit a response, which I recorded too. Quite vocal all afternoon. While waiting for a silent male to start singing (second male) it started to go down branch by branch until eventually leaping on the ground. In the leaf litter, caught a green, medium sized insect (probably a grasshopper) and started to go up with short flights between branches. Later started singing and I recorded it. Second individual was photographed. - First male ML199552291(natural vocalization), ML199552361 (post playback) - Second male ML199555161 natural vocalization), ML199561031 (post playback); and photographs - Third male ML199564431 (natural vocalization)
