Media notes
Bonaparte's Gulls' calls are much lower in sound amplitude (volume) than the surrounding Glaucous-winged Gulls (sounds of immatures of whom sometime looks loon-a-tic). Altogether, few hundred Bonaparte's Gulls and about a thousand Glaucous-winged Gulls were spread over both sides of the White Rock Pier and were quite actively fishing (Anchovies - GR). About 34-50 of Bonaparte's Gulls' calls contributed to these recordings. My first impression of Bonaparte's Gulls' calls was like hearing a FM/SW radio 50 meters away, a man with a nasal voice saying 'vizh-vish--veezh'. Gull's wingbeat sounds and splash of water when they dive for fish can be heard.
Observation details
Counted on photos and video. All were fishing. I could hear their call for the first time.
