Observation details
Piculus laemostictus. Seems to be well distributed in the Araguaia Valley, and in the past years, has been recorded all around the region in small numbers. We have had great views of a female who perched in the open while foraging in the subcanopy of the gallery forest. Heard 3 - 4 times but wasn't interested on playback. Note: this same female has been seen at this same locality for about a year, which means this is probably a established territory.
