Observation details
Campus bird #182. Seen along spillway leading to South Badger Basin. Larger than White-crowned Sparrow, with long tail and and deep bill. Very dull, crown appeared brown rather than reddish-brown, gray breast and white belly, white throat and malar stripe separated by narrow gray (submoustachial?) stripe. I only observed from the front, so never saw the color of the upper parts. As with many Green-tailed Towhees, this one was a rather skulky, uncooperative jerk. One useless photo.
