Observation details
*very rare; continuing bird in the area of the junction of the Cove and Perimeter trails; found in early November by Tom Bailey and Jim Schill; heard “tink” notes (audio-recorded) and one slurred position note call today, but I failed to make a recording of the diagnostic position note; the bird is apparently finishing molt of head/ body feathers, as it looks a lot nicer overall than it did 3 weeks ago and there are a few feather pins still visible on the head; fecal sample collected (frozen, and will be taken to Jason Weckstein at the Academy of Natural Sciences for DNA analysis - along with samples from the Cape May Western Flycatcher); photos
