Observation details
Continuing bird first spotted on the beach across the water east of the end of the pier. Watched there for 20 minutes or so as it foraged along the beach between the logs. As we were leaving, Ian S. spotted it flying in to the reeds and short willows at the base of the pier where it fed in the algae and roots where we finally left it feeding contentedly. At one point it approached us to about 3-4 feet range! Photos.
