Observation details
Continuing bird found by Steve and Pricilla Summers. First seen on the line of trees that splits through the open space of the park, but then flew to the line of trees along the street. Looked like a classic Tropical/Couch's type, with a big bill, olive back and bright yellow belly. However, the call of course gave away its identity. Well heard for a stint of 10 minutes when it kept on calling, almost reminiscent of an Ash-throated Flycatcher, and not as trilly and high-pitched as a Tropical Kingbird. 2nd state record, fantastic find.
