Observation details
Continuing extremely late bird that I last saw Oct 30th, found yesterday by Don Dixon. amazing record, Don!! . On the opposite side of marina where I had seen it in September and October. It was foraging rather frantically in mulch looking for insects, as well as in pine trees.bird seemed extremely stressed trying to find food with multiple people following it. Was walking along observation platform while we were standing on it .. Bird seemed to be looking for insects on the pavement ..Flying short distances, doesn't seem to be injured. It is rather sad to see this beautiful bird struggling and hoping it finally figures out to go south or can find find enough insects to survive a Buffalo winter .. the usage of pesticide in this area has cut back on insects drastically .. terrible situation .
