Observation details
Solitary bird, not in close association with any other birds. I observed it for 30 minutes and it never vocalized. It flew twice, showing distinctive wing pattern. Little barring. Overall washed out gray in color. Tail mainly white, but faint band of color towards end. Jizz reminiscent of a Godwit. One Willet reported in Minto Flats decades ago, but this is first substantiated sighting in Alaska. Bird was found by Toby Burke around 9:30am, then it flew off.
