Observation details
Smaller than the other birds in a large flock of Canada Geese with a shorter, thicker neck; smaller than its apparent companion, which did not appear to be a Cackler. Classic Richardson's profile with small, thin bill showing lump on the underside of lower mandible, steeper forehead with a somewhat angular line of crown, flat crown to peak at rear. This bird showed this crown shape in all postures and at all angles.
