Observation details
I was doing a quick check of the NU lagoon on my way home from the gym. Saw lots of geese, then a Hooded Merganser, then saw a duck I could not immediately place. It was raining/snowing and the visibility was awful. I pulled out the scope from my car, looked at the duck and the immediate first impression was of an Eider. I grabbed my camera and took photos. The geese were starting to take off. Soon, the duck took off as well. King Eider confirmed from photos.
