Observation details
Continuing Bird: At 9:50 A.M. I observed a Solitary Sandpiper from the fisherman's Parking Lot on the north side of Killbuck Wetlands. This bird was feeding on Waterfall Island, just before the waterfall. When I left at noon, the Solitary Sandpiper had flown into the channel on the south side of the wetlands. This is near the treated wood boardwalk. The bird had bold white spectacles or eye ring. Dull greenish legs. A dark gray breast while other under parts were white. Green legs with a dark gray back with white spots.According to the Brock CD, record late date for this species was Oct. 29, 1950. That is tomorrow. If this bird stays 2 more days as far as I know, it will be a new state record.
