Continuing bird found about a week earlier. Thanks to Anna and Mike for pointing me in the right direction, I really wish the bird had appeared while everyone was still there. After an hour and half of waiting I left the area to explore the rest of the park. On the way back to my car I stopped again for about 30 minutes. The bird popped up unprovoked a couple feet from the edge of the path. It perched briefly in view, then flew further back and out of sight (although not that deep) into the field. Orange malar and supercilium surrounding gray cheek patch. Prominent white stripes on back, streaking on flanks.
