Observation details
Juvenile. While walking the Black Dog Trail back to the parking lot, I noticed a lot of raptors moving south, including a TUVU and a number of Bald Eagles. I set up the scope to get a better look, since most were soaring quite high, and noticed a raptor amongst the BAEA with white patches on the center of the underwing, and bright white on the upper tail when the bird tipped towards me. White also visible at the base of tail from below. This location is an estimation. I was standing on the Dakota side of the river, but the birds were circling to the WNW of me, which would put them across the river into Hennepin. Lost track of the bird and couldn’t relocate on the Dakota side.
