Observation details
I found it around 9:15am on the lawn by the east end of dried up Tule Pond. Not afraid of people or peacocks. Actively feeding on worms and insects and was alert to sound and movement, but then just sat in the shade for 20 minutes or so until it flew off after a Peacock basically stepped on it. I’ve never seen this species at the Arboretum before.
