Media notes
Not 100% certain of ID. Call lasted about 5 minutes and the bird was not seen or heard.
Observation details
An unusual call was heard. Sounded similar to a Townsend's Solitaire but higher and sharper. Sound seemed to be coming from shrubs on the north side of the pond. Was unable to see the bird making the sound (a towhee was hopping near it, but unlikely to be the calling bird) and it was not heard again afterwards. Update: A few weeks later the same call was heard again, but no bird was seen. However, I am more inclined to think this is a towhee, as the call would immediately be responded by a Towhee. October 2020 - finally got a glimpse of the SPTO making this sound.
