Observation details
Lifer #264! Photos.Continuing bird reported by Clay Crofton on Oct 15. Beautiful male with golden sail feathers near rump, and two white bars near chest (unlike the single white bar of the wood ducks.) Trail starts at Native Plant fenced area (near the gray bathroom building), go to the right and down the trail towards the houses, over the first bridge, then over four wood platforms (about 60 yards past the bridge). The Mandarin duck and wood ducks were to the right in a small pond surrounded by tall grass roosting on a set of branches. The pond is almost right in the backyard of the houses. I only saw one of the four reported ducks that Clay reported a few days ago.
