Observation details
Chris Gabriele noted Short-tailed Shearwaters 5 times (200, 150, 170, 10, and 20) south of South Marble Island while conducting a whale survey for Glacier Bay National Park. Five of her photos here show two different flocks and two different individuals. Interpretive rangers reported seeing shearwaters in the South Marble Island area many times during September. Humpback whales were also feeding near South Marble Island during that period. (Entry by Nat Drumheller.)
