Observation details
Small, yellow-green oriole, not much bigger than a White-crowned Sparrow (thinner bodied, longer tailed). Tail short for an oriole and almost seemed too thin even for the slim body, a feature I have noticed with female Orchards in the past. Two white wing bars, also with light edgings to secondaries and tertials. Fairly short-billed for an oriole, with slight decurve noted. Flew from the campground down to a cottonwood near the tree farm, where it was observed by Andrew and Winona. Flew out into the brush east of the old soccer field, where it was relocated by Vernon and seen briefly again by Andrew. Species number 300 for Andrew for the park.
