Observation details
Photos of immature and an audio recording of another which flew away from the immature after noticing me. Delayed this posting per multiple breeding signs: immature here, two were feeding on their plucking log which tends to be near nest, I believe, and screech series calling may be territory defense. The immature was large, with distinct facial disk, bold pale above eye, a light or moderately marked hawk. As I approached, one flew into deeper woods nearby and gave screech series alarm calls. At one point also heard wails, squeals briefly. The young hawk remained on the plucking log with what appeared to be a rabbit, though I can't see the prey clearly. Audio sonograms consistent with Goshawk - fuller, higher pitched, and slower than Cooper's, double checked against other online sonograms.
