Observation details
** At Bill Forward Pool with a large mixed shorebird flock, viewed from the new blind. Jumped out immediately from the surrounding peeps, and my initial take was Red-necked, but the viewing distance was considerable and the bird was quite jumpy. Eventually it moved a bit closer, showing a deep red back-of-neck wrapping around to the front, forming a uniquely shaped white throat. Needle-like bill.
