Observation details
Adult female with black hood but yellow throat unlike an adult male. Plain yellow face and underside, greenish wings and back. Frequently fanning tail showing white edges. First detected its chip calls that sounded different from other more common warblers, matched Sibley recordings. With a mixed songbird flock (chickadees, bushtits, and kinglets) about .4 miles from the trailhead just past the bridge over the creek. Flock continued upstream and out of sight. Photos, watched for at least 15 min, usually moving fairly low in brush about 2-4 ft high.
