Observation details
Little Rush Warbler is a bird that I am very familiar with from South Africa and I called this bird on call alone at first as its "accelerating" call is a very distinctive one. The guide I was with, Kalu Afasi, recorded its call and the bird responded vigorously to playback of the recording and to the call on my Roberts Southern African birding app. I was not at the time aware that this was a rare species for this location (it is a common and widespread bird in Southern Africa, where I do most of my birding) and did not want to log this species until I had a recording. I have recently received the video attached from the guide, Kalu, which includes the very distinctive call. The video was taken in the same location with another client a few days after our visit. I can't add the video file as it is an MP4 file but I will try to convert it and upload.
