Observation details
First found by Denny Jones. The first Indiana record for this species. Juvenile bird. Some of the below taken from my documentation written at the time. About the size of nearby Pectoral Sandpipers. Bold white supercillium and bright rufous crown. Buffy throat/neck and breast with little to no streaking with the exception of a few brown streaks at the side of the neck and upper breast unlike Pectorals having pronounced streaking. The buff belly faded into white about mid-belly. Light legs. White belly. Bill rather short and slightly decurved and dark brown in color. Mantle, scapulars, and tertials brown/black feather center with buff edges and with rufous mixed in on some feathers. Seen twice more before it departed. Seen by MOB. JPG from scanned slide.
