Observation details
While walking the revetments I saw a bird out of the corner of my eye fly low behind a revetment row. I was unable to relocate it on that side so I returned to my atv which was parked on the road between the north two revetments. While sitting on the atv putting my gloves back on the Wryneck flew over the hill and landed in the rock pile about 15-20 meters from me. I snapped a few pictures then the bird flew off to the north out into the tundra. We assume it spends time out in the tundra and occasionally returns to the revetments that is why sometimes the bird just isn't seen despite thorough searching.
