Observation details

Photo documentation; associating with Western and Least sandpipers; short, black, blunt-tipped bill; no rufous on scapulars; uniform scaling on back.... probably a juvenile; breast sides show light, blurry streaking; dark legs; easily picked out from other sandpipers when mixed Sandpiper flock flew and reassembled. Incredible bird!
