Observation details
Seen on the left side of wildlife drive, in the large meadow just after Jen's Trail. The kingbird was moving between the larger bushes in the meadow, always landing on the top and occasionally flying straight up to catch small flies. Large, slender flycatcher with fairly long tail and thin black bill. Head, breast and back mostly uniform pale gray (but lores dark, auriculars slightly pale); belly bright yellow; tail black with white edges. The bird was briefly harassed by an eastern kingbird, but the western kingbird was able to continue flycatching in the meadow for another 5 or 10 minutes until it eventually moved out of sight. Distant photos attached.
