Observation details
Discussion on this bird has developed a consensus that it is a 1CY Besra. Key features highlighted are: - Very prominent medial stripe and eye ring -Bill is too small for crested goshawk. The eyes are a bit bulging as the ridge is absent(unlike strong ridge on CG). The thigh is shown not barred in the first picture. -The obvious pale eye ring rules out shikra. -It’s not japanese sparrowhawk because of small head on a relatively large body. Giving somewhat “shikraish” appearance. While Japanese have larger head on relatively smaller body. -Ear-coverts are rather plain and the head is colder brown compared to Japanese SH Thanks to members of Thailand's "Raptor Mania" Facebook Group for help with the ID of this bird.
