Observation details
Small brown warbler with longish tail. Back was coarsely streaked with black streaks. The rump was rusty colored, lacking streaks, but there were fine black streaks on the upper tail coverts. Whitish tips to the retrices, very similar to the tail pattern of Middendorff's Grasshopper-Warbler, which we had just seen the day before. Whitish tips to tertials. Gray-streaked crown and nape, blackish lateral crown streaks. The underparts with yellowish buff and the undertail coverts unstreaked. Pending acceptance, this will be the first record for Alaska and North America.
