Observation details
Two American Golden-Plovers observed. As much as three have been recently seen in the vicinity of a larger number of Black-bellied Plovers. Good views with spotting scope; terrible photos as I only have a 300 mm lens. AGPL similar to BBPL but more slender, with relatively thinner and smaller bill. Birds seen had conspicuous light supercilium and capped appearance on the crown. More upright posture. One bird still had remnants of alternate plumage with a bronze appearance on the mantle when the sunlight hit it. Second bird appeared to have more basic plumage with a golden (appears more like bronze in the setting sun) appearance on the mantle.
