Observation details
Long tail, very buffy sides and speckled throat. Extent of buffy color on sides rules out ruby-throated or black-chinned. Large hummingbird, slightly bigger than a black-chinned that was also coming to this feeder at my campsite. Appeared larger than a rufous hummingbird, I'm familiar with comparing the two species side by side in Colorado. I know that apparent size shouldn’t be used to ID Selasphorus species, so I investigated the photos further and could see rufous in the outer rectrices although photo is rather poor.
