Observation details
Attracted by passerines mobbing, it came in silently from well downslope into an acacia near the road and then across into a juniper. I got two photos, which show the rather long tail (which it pumped a bit), rounded head, and eyering. I lightened the photo taken against the sky to show the pale yellowish wash on the underparts, especially the under tail coverts--which made me wonder whether it was a young bird. It was actually the third Gray Vireo I've seen along the Portal-Paradise road in the last week, two of them also seen by Richard Webster.
