Observation details
During a whale survey in lower Glacier Bay, Chris Gabriele noted over 100 shearwaters resting on the water with kittiwakes in several small flocks. Thanks to Steve Heinl who looked at the photos here and thought they all appeared to be Short-tailed Shearwaters. There were an unusual number of shearwaters in Icy Strait and lower Glacier Bay this August and it seems they were mostly Short-tailed Shearwaters. (Entry by Nat Drumheller.)
