Observation details
4 birds were in the back basin pond. Greg saw an adult male(with a crescent on the face) that I missed, and apparently it flew away before it could be re-located. 3 females were on an island near some Northern Shovelers, they are the 3 ducks in the middle of the photo. Smaller than nearby NOSH, with very pale brown heads(paler than nearby CITE) and pale scaly breasts. When the group of birds flushed, we watched as these 3 ducks flew with the flock of Northern Shovelers. They had large blue patches on their wings, visible in flight. No other colors were seen. These birds tended to stay to themselves and did not associate much with nearby CITE.
