Observation details
Feeding at hummingbird feeder. I identified the Anna's by its size, much bigger than the rufous or Calliope. I was unsure if it was a black-chinned, which I believe is similar in size and also has an upright stature when sitting on the feeder. However, it had a very clear red spot on its throat that according to my Sibley's is a feature of the Anna's. That's why I believe it is an Anna's.
