Media notes

Bird seen/ID confirmed visually. Amplified to -3 dB peak, high pass filter 200 Hz. This recording was fortuitous, as I just happened to be recording an Acadian Flycatcher singing in the midstory, when this Prothonotary gave flight display/song in the same direction as the target ACFL.

Observation details

incl 1 bird doing flight display: I first saw bird as it began singing during (seemingly) downward portion of flight display, in slow, fluttery, descending flight through subcanopy, dropping to mid-story, at forest gap near edge of flooded cypress swamp bordering tall BLH/riparian forest; song was more complex than typical song, ca. 4 sec in duration and consisting of 4 parts (refer to audio, attached)
