Observation details
Female with 3 young just west of pass (200 yards?) on single track trail that splits off from beginning of FR 700. Adult was a dumpy grouse with heavy black barring across breast. Seemed to be missing tail feathers so could not judge tail length. Very vocal group; the female gave low clucks while the young gave fairly high, liquid pip notes.
