Observation details
FOY. One with relatively short, fairly straight, stocky bill that appeared to have its plumage transitioning from alternate to basic plumage. Barely slight reddish cast to scapulars on the back, compared to the more robust reddish cast of a western sandpiper. Slightly different body shape than western sandpipers as well, probably because of slightly smaller head and bill shape.
