Observation details
Unfortunately the photos were distorted by ground heat mirage coupled with distance resulting in poor quality images. Bird was discovered by J. Mitchell feeding along the tule lined southern mud edge of the the partially flooded fallow field (dirt road heading to the river mouth from main parking lot). Medium size shorebird with horizontal posture and tail classic bobbing action similar to that of Spotted Sandpiper. The bird presented with a bold white eye-ring, dusky brown/gray head/breast that transitioned into a bright white belly and under-tail. Scattered white spotting was noted on wing/back with a dark wing shoulder. Legs were noted to be yellow/green in color.
