Media notes
Groups KI4, KI5. Starts with soft hoo notes of male of group KI4, followed by four great calls. Notes of female at about 3:20 after 2nd great call. At about 5 min, group KI5 gives great call, and a conflict between the males follows. Short agitated uh uh uh are conflict vocalizations. The males can be heard swinging about in the trees while chasing. A squeel-like sound at about 9.5 min. is given by a subadult of one of the groups when pressed by the opposing adult male. Great calls by females of both groups are given alternately. At about 14 min. I say "1:45" and "they have seen me", after group KI5 has detected me trying to approach closer, and gives loud alarm calls, including screams by the male. To great calls by group KI5 follow at the end of the cut. This specimen recording has several interruptions due to technical difficulties and my attempts to approach more closely. Habitat: Tropical Forest, Evergreen Forest.
