Observation details
Group of five Cooper's hawks (originally misidentified as sharp-shinned hawks) in a grove of elms behind my apartment backing onto Fort Rouge Park and the Assiniboine River. Although I did not get any photographs, it looked like three juveniles and two parents (one of which stayed near a small nest or mass of branches that seemed too small to be its nest; further observation may clarify things). One juvenile was feeding on what looked like a large mouse until being loudly usurped by another juvenile.
