Media notes
These songs are possibly a response to playback of H. pileatus duet, consisting of female "great calls" and male responses. The playback is also recorded along with the H. lar duet of group HW7. The first calls heard are the introductory hoots of the H. lar group. Then, female "great calls" of both the H. lar and the H. pileatus are heard simultaneously. Then the female calls are heard alternately. The pileatus great call speeds up and ends in a long bubbly trill; the lar great call consists of long, extended wail-like hoots. Response to playback of Hylobates pileatus duet. Habitat: Tropical Forest, Evergreen Forest.
