Observation details
Large sandpiper with relatively short bill. Perhaps a post breeding disperser from a local population. Flew over giving loud “qui de de du” call. The bird appears to be molting primaries, which according to Pyle (2008) makes this an after hatch year bird. Landed in the farm fields east of the dike and south of cemetery road. About one third of the distance between the dike and west street if traveling east on cemetery rd. Photos.
